Meeting And Greeting People In Nottingham South

Yesterday and the day before I was out with many of the other Nottingham South Conservatives speaking to local people and community leaders.

On Wednesday we were out in Wollaton doing more surveys to ask residents if they had any problems they wanted their great local Conservative councillors and Jane Hunt to solve. One issue that was raised was that of pavements which have never really properly been looked after by the City Council. However, both Tory councillors Georgina and Eileen managed to get some money to repair the pavements for the area outside the shops on Arleston Drive. We thus posed for the above group photo there to check out the handiwork of the paths.

Georgina also showed us a children's play park she had managed to get renovated in 2009 by using grants which boosted already existing money for Nottingham play areas. However, this move was weirdly opposed by the local Labour party despite the play ground having not been repaired for decades beforehand. No idea why they opposed it by hey ho Georgina got it fixed, well done to her.

Yesterday I went to a great event organised by the Conservative Muslim Forum in the Bombay Nights Restaurant, who treated us to a very nice curry. Jane and other local Conservatives got together to meet key players in the local Muslim community and Justice Minister Shailesh Vara MP. Brendan Clarke Smith, who is the 5th on the list Conservative MEP candidate also came. Jane and the Nottingham Tories are very keen to get as many people as possible from all walks of life out helping to bring about a Conservative majority government. In Britain under this Government it doesn't matter who you are, or where you come from you can succeed with hard work. This is one of the greatest things I like about the Conservative Party.
