Weekly Poll Lowdown

So you have a hypothetical say in HMRC. So what did you think would be the best percentage of taxation for people on the top 10% of incomes should pay? Well as I expected it was a real hodge podge of answers with the socialist or insane readers putting over 50% and the Tories favouring less than 40%. 20% was the most popular. Who was mad enough to return to the 1970s of 98% tax, I wish to refer you to a doctor.

90%-100%

So what is my opinion. Well I think about 40%, maybe a little less, is about right. If the tax is 50% or higher it would actually cost more to have the policy than what would get back from rich people. Also the smaller the tax the more will be invested and grow the economy, the tax money would be gained from business. What people further forget is that these create jobs. Growing business makes jobs far which is far better than any welfare spending. Let's cut taxes more.

Everyone, not just rich people, should receive tax cuts though. People will have much better lives with low taxes. I support the reintroduction of the 10p tax rate, although not Red Ed's plan for it, I hope Robert Halfon MP is pleased. This will improve people's incomes giving them the ability to spend more and grow the economy. Everyone wins with a tax cut.

So Gideon, if you're reading, take heed.

Vote in New Thatcher Poll.
